Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial

Pearl Harbor earned its place in history for the 1941 attack, which killed 1,177 on the USS Arizona. This site is now home to several attractions that are part of the World War II Valor in the Pacific Monument, including the USS Arizona Memorial. The memorial floats above the remains of the ship-parts some of which can be seen out of the water. There is no cost for a tour of the memorial, however it is recommended that you make a reservation due to its popularity. The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center has free admission and is the meeting place for tours which include transportation to the Pacific Aviation Museum. At this museum tourists can see WWII artifacts and aircraft. Other attractions include the USS Oklahoma, USS Utah, and the Battleship USS Missouri. An all around great destination to observe and appreciate a pivotal part of Americas history.

Princeville Botanical Gardens

The Princeville Botanical Gardens are a family run facility which contains exotic flowers, medicinal plants, and food bearing plants. Time spent within the gardens are educational and enjoyable, here visitors are able to go on guided tours learning about the plants, their uses and other cool facts. The tour also includes a free taste of both raw and processed cacao and honey from the nectar of Hawaii’s tropical flowers. Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve

Hanauma Bay is an unique protected bay formed within the crater of a volcano on the island of Oahu. This bay has been a world famous tourist destination for snorkelers. Inside the Hanauma Bay Education Center you can learn all about the bay, and see several snorkeling rental shops that offer lessons. Diamond Head Crater

Diamond Head crater is located right next to Waikiki, and the hiking trails begin inside the equator. To enter the trails costs only a couple of dollars, the hike is open daily from 6am to 6pm, and the last entrance to the hike trails is at 4:30. This crater gives you an epic view of the region you are staying in and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Oahu.
